Updated: 17 hours ago

An Overview of the Work

As part of a wider piece of work looking at the Impact of Youth Engagement, young people have created this report and creative visuals on power sharing and policy solutions with young people. Based on an event hosted with over 140 young people from diverse communities. The session brought together 10 youth groups across London who had been engaged in researching challenges for their communities and designing policy solutions. This included the Latin American Women’s Rights Project, London Youth’s Advisory Board, Young Ealing Foundation, Young Advisors Waltham Forest among others. The session was designed and facilitated by Young People from across 3 organisations using creative methods to gather feedback

Key Findings are contained within the report ‘Empowering Voices, Inspiring Change’ the full report can be viewed here:

“Roses are red, violets are blue, let’s power share between me and you.

Dismantlement of hierarchy, in a sustainable world is equality.

Change is an opportunity for new beginnings, I believe that voice is more than words, it is acknowledgement of your existence.

Your voice means power, your voice means change, your voice makes sure nothing stays the same.

Participation means taking part, no discrimination in taking a chance.

Participation is the art of speaking up.

Words and actions can influence the behaviour of others, Influence can bring out change in our sisters and our brothers.

When the challenges of life diminishes your power, You can’t back down, you can’t cower.”

A collective poem by young Londoners
